Safety Mats Against Slippery and Wet Surfaces

Safety mats are used wherever moisture, rain, snow or other influences can reduce slip resistance on paths and floor surfaces. Their structured surface supports secure footing and makes them a functional flooring solution for private, commercial and public areas.

The safety mats currently offered by diconfa consist of a glass yarn carrier material with a PVC coating and a grippy PVC granulate coating on the upper side. Thanks to their open structure, the mats are water-permeable: precipitation and other liquids can drain away instead of remaining on the surface.

Slip-Resistant Mats for Outdoor Areas

Especially outdoors, rain, moisture, snow and frost can change conditions on walkways, stairs and other walking areas. A suitable safety mat can be used here as a slip-resistant floor covering while also covering the existing surface.

Typical applications include house entrances, company entrance areas, terraces, balconies, outdoor stairs, walkways, driveways and company premises. Suitable safety mats can also be used in more heavily frequented locations such as railway stations, bus stops, boat landings or bridges.

Safety Mats for Entrances and Walkways

In entrance areas, moisture and dirt often meet smooth floor surfaces. The open-structured PVC safety mat provides a grippy walking surface and allows liquids to drain through the mat. This makes it suitable for private house entrances as well as commercially or publicly used access areas and walkways.

Slip-Resistant Mats for Stairs and Outdoor Surfaces

A slip-resistant mat can also be useful on outdoor stairs, terraces, balconies or other walkable surfaces. The decisive factor is a version suitable for the intended use and proper installation. The safety mats currently offered are designed for indoor and outdoor use and can additionally be fixed in place if required.

R13 Safety Mats for High Slip Resistance

The current PVC safety mats from diconfa achieve slip resistance class R13. In the classification of slip-resistant floor coverings, the rating groups range from R9 to R13, with R13 representing the highest slip resistance class.

In addition, the safety mats offered have a displacement space rating of V10 and further test results listed on the respective product pages. For commercial or industrial applications, however, the requirements of the specific area of use should always be checked separately.

Construction of the PVC Safety Mat

The safety mats currently offered are not made of conventional solid rubber, but consist of a glass yarn carrier with PVC coating on both sides. The upper side also features a coarse PVC granulate coating, which creates the characteristic grippy surface.

The open structure combines slip resistance with water permeability. The mats are also UV- and weather-resistant, rot-resistant and designed for different outdoor weather conditions. The material thickness of the versions currently offered is approximately 6 to 7 mm.

Where Can Safety Mats Be Used?

Thanks to their combination of a slip-resistant surface, open structure and suitability for indoor and outdoor use, safety mats can be used in many different areas. Typical applications include:

  • house entrances and commercial entrance areas
  • walkways and pedestrian routes
  • outdoor stairs and access stairs
  • terraces and balconies
  • driveways and company premises
  • work and traffic areas
  • bus stops and railway stations
  • boat landings and bridges
  • pool and swimming pool areas
  • other areas where moisture or weather conditions can increase the risk of slipping

Which mat and installation method are suitable for a specific area should always be assessed based on the actual conditions on site.

Safety Mats in Anthracite, Grey, Red and Beige

In addition to function, colour can also play a role when making a selection. The safety mats are currently available in anthracite, grey, red and beige. This allows the floor covering to either blend discreetly into the surroundings or be deliberately highlighted visually.

Subtle Safety Mats in Anthracite, Grey and Beige

Anthracite, grey and beige are suitable for areas where the mat should blend into the surroundings as harmoniously as possible. Anthracite has a dark and understated appearance, grey offers a neutral salt-and-pepper look, and beige is suitable for lighter entrance, terrace or outdoor areas.

Red Safety Mat with a Visible Signal Effect

The red version stands out clearly from many floor surfaces and can therefore visually mark walkways or specific zones. Technically, it is based on the same construction as the other colour versions currently available.

Order a Custom Safety Mat

A safety mat should fit the existing area as closely as possible. At diconfa, the available PVC safety mats can therefore be individually configured in the required width and length. This allows entrances, walkways, stair areas or larger outdoor surfaces to be fitted appropriately without having to cut unnecessary amounts of material on site.

The safety mats currently offered are manufactured in Germany and cut according to the selected dimensions. The available sizes can be found directly in the respective product configurator.

Safety Mat or Anti-Slip Mat – What Is the Difference?

The terms safety mat, anti-slip mat and slip-resistant mat are sometimes used in similar ways in everyday language. However, the specific construction and intended use are decisive. The safety mats offered here consist of a PVC-coated glass yarn carrier with PVC granulate and are designed in particular as slip-resistant, water-permeable floor coverings for walkways and outdoor areas.

For other requirements, such as profiled rubber mats for workshops, ramps or technical applications, diconfa also offers anti-slip mats and other profiled floor mats.

More Rubber Runners and Floor Mats at diconfa

In addition to safety mats, diconfa offers various mats and floor coverings for commercial, industrial and private applications. These include studded mats, ring rubber mats, fine-ribbed mats and other profiled versions.

You can find an overview of these products in the parent category custom rubber mats and rubber runners.
