PROFESSIONAL QUALITY / KEY FUNCTION: Precision-cut solid acrylic square rod made from high-grade polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). Each bar is cut to your specified length with a saw-cut, deburred finish and a length tolerance of -2/+3 mm. The material offers outstanding optical clarity with a light transmittance exceeding 90%, making it ideal for applications where transparency and structural integrity are essential.
MATERIAL & QUALITY: Manufactured from solid PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), this square bar is completely colourless, crystal clear, and physiologically safe for direct food contact. The acrylic is UV-stable, weather-resistant, and easy to clean. It maintains its transparency and mechanical properties across a temperature range of -20°C to +80°C.
ADVANTAGES: The surface is exceptionally smooth, impact-resistant, and highly transparent. If needed, it can be re-polished to restore its original clarity. PMMA is significantly lighter than glass while offering superior shatter resistance. The material is readily machinable — it can be sawed, drilled, milled, and bonded with acrylic adhesives. At temperatures between +150°C and +170°C, the material becomes rubber-elastic, allowing it to be bent, stretched, expanded, or blow-moulded. Adequate cooling is required during high-speed cutting to prevent smearing caused by frictional heat.
APPLICATION AREAS: Suitable for industrial manufacturing, mechanical and plant engineering, trade fair and exhibition construction, furniture production, staircase construction and handrails, LED lighting and illumination technology, model building, decorative design, aquarium construction, food processing technology, advertising and marketing displays, hospitality and hotel interiors, and artistic or creative projects.
STANDARDS & TESTING: The material is approved for food contact applications and is physiologically harmless. PMMA meets established industry requirements for optical clarity and UV stability in both indoor and outdoor environments.
