About this item
MATERIAL: Virgin white PTFE is light- and weather-resistant, self-extinguishing, and flame-retardant. This high-performance plastic is thermally stable from -200°C to +260°C (melting point 325°C) and ideal for demanding industrial and craft applications.
VARIANTS: The PTFE round rod is available in diameters from 5 mm to 150 mm and lengths from 10 mm to 1,000 mm. Length tolerance: -0 / +3 mm.
PROCESSING: Recommended machining (with cooling): turning, milling, sawing, drilling, or welding. The plastic rod is easy to machine and provides high dimensional accuracy during processing.
APPLICATIONS: Industry, crafts, mechanical and plant engineering, model making, food technology, art, design, decoration, furniture, hotels, gastronomy, exhibition construction, advertising, marketing, handrails, stair construction, pump and valve bodies, seals, insulators, optical components, and more.
PROPERTIES: High mechanical strength, rigidity, and hardness. Excellent wear and abrasion resistance. Non-flammable, self-extinguishing, chemically resistant, UV-stable, weatherproof, low water absorption, good electrical insulation.
TECHNICAL DATA: Density: 2.1–2.3 g/cm³ // Tensile strength: 27.6 MPa // Compressive strength: 12.9 MPa // Elongation at break: 230% // Temperature range: -200°C to +260°C.
